Tabakosi (তাবাকোশী) is a new travel destination near Mirik and Darjeeling, only 6 km from Mirik and 66 km from Bagdogra airport, another 50 km from Darjeeling. The village located in the foot hills of Darjeeling and Mirik known as offbeat Destination, where tea tourism, village tourism, adventure tour has been promoted by Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA) and Govt. of West Bengal for the growth of Tourism in the State.

          Tabokoshi situated at bank of river Rambhang and Gopaldhara Tea estate. The place is relatively unknown to the tourists and is quite peaceful compared to other popular destinations. Tent accommodation at river bank also can be arranged as per request.

How to Reach Tabakoshi

Direct taxis or cars are available from NJP, Siliguri and Bagdogra 55 km from siliguri via Mirik. Bagdogra airport or New Jalpaiguri railway station to Mirik first 1.5 hours, after crossing Mirik Bazar go ahead to Thurbu tea factory and just right turn diversion route leading to Gopaldhara Tea Garden Lower Division 5km to Rangbhang Khola known as Tabakoshi.

From Darjeeling proceed to Ghoom railway station 8 km. And Right turn towards Sukhia pokhri, after reaching Sukhipokhri Bazar then turn left towards Pokhriabong 12 km approx. Just before entering pokhriabong bazar just right turn towards Turzam football ground and drive downwards till Rangbhang River valley proceed towards Tabakoshi homestay.

Tabakoshi can be visited throughout the year for its location, nature and pleasant climate around the year. This village also can be visited in Monsoon times due to short distance from Siliguri and low altitude.
