The name Soureni is derived from two different words, ‘Sour’ – a rare tree having some medical value and ‘Rani’ means ‘Queen of the Valley’.

How to Reach Soureni

Nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP) and nearest airport is Bagdogra (IXB) directly connected with Soureni. Daily bus service is available from Siliguri to Mirik. You can hire a car to Soureni from Siliguri/NJP/Bagdogra, it will take around 2.5 hrs. to 3 hrs to reach. Shared jeep also available from Siliguri to Mirik it will cost around Rs.150/person. From Mirik ask your host to pick you up by exclusive car.

Soureni can be visited throughout the year, but best time to visit Soureni is March – June again October – December.
