Daragaon | Balcony of Mount Kanchenjunga

Daragaon (দারাগাঁও) is a beautiful and tranquil village near Kalimpong, located just 14 away from Kalimpong city. Dara Gaon also known as ‘Upper Icchey’ within local population. It is one of the best eco-tourism destinations in Eastern Himalayan region. A superb view of Mt. Kanchenjunga can be seen from Dara Gaon, few people also call This village as ‘Balcony of Kanchenjunga’.

          The entire village is surrounded by lush green forest and various flowers throughout the year. It will take hardly 30 mins. to reach Daragaon from Kalimpong. Take a small walk through the village, there are some beautiful bungalow pattern private houses and homestays, many unknown flowers and trees, lush greenery in a calm and quiet atmosphere which will fascinate you. From here you can also visit Icchey Gaon and Ramdhura.

How to Reach Daragaon

Nearest airport is Bagdogra and nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP), car and taxis are available from airport and NJP to Daragaon. Total distance is 80 kms from from NJP. Someone also can reach Dara Gaon from Kalimpong.

          You can reach Teesta Bazar from Siliguri, NJP and Bagdogra by car through NH-31A, our representative will pick-up from Teesta bazar.

Best Season to Visit Daragaon

Daragaon can be visited throughout the year. If you are visiting in winter you will get extra bonus – oranges, in the month of December to February entire village gets full of orange.
