There are number of points to visit like Gayabari Tea Estate, Mirik Lake, Maju Park/Garden, Bokar monastery, Mirik Swiss cottages and orange orchards at winter season. Also you can enjoy a deep bath and fishing at Balasun river.

When your life is busy living in a concrete jungle, the boundless green of Bunkulung will soothe your eyes. Bunkulung is one such place where you can see tea-gardens and farmland together. The aroma of the orange orchard in winter will add another dimension to it. Wake up in the morning with the sweet call of birds.

There is a Murma tea garden near Bunkulung. Arrive at the homestay and take a short walk and go for a walk. Go a little further along the pitch road. A cantilever bridge will come, the Murmah Khola flowing under that bridge is open. Go ahead. Keep walking in the Murma tea-garden. If you walk for 10 minutes, you will hear the roar of Balasan River. Don't stop, keep walking. You will see that at some point you have reached the river bank. If you live alone, you will notice that there is probably no other person by the river except you.

First you need to reach NJP station or Bagdogra airport. Bunkulung is 43 km from here. Rent a car and go to Dudhia on the way to Mirik first. There you have to cross the Balasan River, leave the Mirik road and turn right. Bunkulung is 7-8 km away from there. Bunkulung can also be reached from Mirik. Distance 12 km

How to Reach Bunkulung Mirik

Nearest airport is Bagdogra (IXB) and nearest railway heads is New Jalpaiguri (NJP). Direct car/taxis are available from Siliguri/NJP, it will take around 2.5 hrs to reach to Bunkulung through Siliguri-Mirik road. Someone also can reach from Darjeeling via Mirik and Soureni. A reserved car fare would be around Rs.2000 – Rs.2500 from Siliguri and NJP (it may change in season time).

                Share jeep also available from just font Siliguri Junction station to Mirik, get down at Soureni then take a reserved car to Bunkulung. Also contact us for pick-up and drop from Siliguri/Darjeeling.
