Chota Mangwa | offers picturesque view of the Teesta River
Chota Mangwa (ছোটা মাঙয়া) a small
hilly village in secluded environment of Darjeeling district, west Bengal,
distance from Darjeeling city only 35 K.M. It will take around half hours short
driving to Chota Mangwa from Darjeeling city. Curved Tista River flows from very
near of this village, its lays between Kalimpong of Darjeeling West Bengal and
Namchi of Sikkim. If you are looking ahead you can see sparkling sculpture of
Lord Shiba from Namchi (Sikkim) Chardham.

time, then you can see the orange orchards full of oranges in both at Chhota
Mangwa and Bara Mangwa which is a few kms. away from Chhota Mangwa.

will visible from Kalimpong hill like so many lighting buts are flying front of
you, a wonderful ineffable scene from your room or cottage. Get a sweet and
quick sleep at night because, a charming sunrise waiting for you at next day
morning. The entire Kanchenjunga peak will be colored with so many colors at
sun rising time, it’s a must see.
After breakfast take a short trip to old monastery, very
peaceful location in the lap of mountain. It’s a very holly place for locals,
lots of people are gathered here and Buddha Purnima Festival. Chota Mangwa a
hot spot for birding, through the year this place attracts number of bird
watcher from around the country. Take a small walk through mountain roads and
the orange orchards, pick an orange from tree and test this one with a reasonable
price. In winter entire villages colored with oranges and snowcapped
Kanchenjunga. Also you can reach to Bara Mangwa, distance from Chota Mangwa is
only 12 K.M, by the breathtaking orange orchards. Nearby attractions are
Tinchuley, Mongpo (21 K.M), Loleygaon (69 K.M), Pedong (36 K.M), Delo (34 K.M)
and Bara Mangwa (12 K.M).
This region also well-known for
organic farming, step cultivation and orange complexes. All the served food at
your homestay or hotel will be organic and cultivating by locals.

is New Jalpaiguri or NJP well connected with all major Indian cities. The
Darjeeling Mail, Kanchankanya express, Saraighat express, Tista-Torsa express
connecting to Kolkata. Chota Mongwa situated from 68 K.M away from NJP.
Nearest airport is Bagdogra (IXB) daily flight available
from Kolkata, Guwahati and Delhi. Book an exclusive car from NJP or from
Bagdogra to Chota Mangwa, it’s the best way to transportation, cost would be
around Rs.2500/ to Rs.3200/. The way to Mangwa from NJP or Bagdogra goes via
Sevok, Tista bazar, from Tista Bazar the main hill road starts to Mangwa, last
2 K.M is dirt road. This main road goes to Takdah and Tinchuley.

tourists throughout the year; try to visit at winter time to get orange full
complexes and orchards. These oranges are so good in test; you can pluck any
number of oranges as you want with minimum charges.
