Bomdila |
Bomdila is one of the most important towns of West
Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh is called as Abode of Cloud, located at
8200ft above sea level. This is most beautiful placed to see clouds over the
sky, you can experience hide-seek of sun and cloud throughout the year. It will
take around 1-2 hrs. time to reach Bomdila from Tenga valley, distance
around 30 kms.
The
scenic town is so small, most of the attractions can be seen on your foot, and
the entire sightseeing destinations located nearby. You can visit Lower
Monastery (Lower Gonpa Monastery), which is old monastery of Bomdila, located
near market area. Scenic beauty of monastery and nearby garden is must visiting
place. You can find center for crafts where local crafts are on display and a
shopping center just next of old monastery. On a day visit take a trip to Bomdila
View Point, district Museum.
Take a
car for Upper Monastery (Upper Gonpa),
this was built after Indo-China war in 1962. Then visit Tibetan Colony (Tenzingang). There are several orchards
near the town, in the month of September entire region covered with Apple. In
winter the area covered with orange, this is delight to see when you are in
Bomdila. Your next destination is Dirang, which located at 40 kms away from
Bomdila.
