Bhalukpong is one of the gateways and small town of
Arunachal Paradesh, located at 60 kms away from Tezpur, Assam. Natural beauty
is main attraction of this small town. River Kameng has got a new name
as ‘Jia
Bhoreli’ at Bhalukpong, which coming down from mountain of Arunachal
Pradesh. If you want to explore scenic beauty of this hill town then at least
stay and spend here for a night or more. Someone also spend a night when
returning back from Bomdila - Tawang.
The town
has check-post, which is used to check Inner-Line-Permit for entering Arunachal
Pradesh, each and every traveler must need an ILP. After your permit
verification you are allowed to visit the state, then after crossing the check
post you will reach to Tippi through 6 km uphill road.
There is an Orchid Research Center, which located on west bank of river Kemeng
and spread over 10 hectares of flat land. Different types of orchids (over 50,600
species), Museum, herbarium, butterflies and garden will definitely steal your
heart and soul, an entire day can be spend on this research center. The main
attraction of the center is its fiber proof glass house that has around 1000
beautiful exotic orchids in pots and hanging baskets.

distance around 51 kms from Bhalukpong. Direct car/taxis are available from
airport.

station is Rangapara (RPAN), distance around 46 kms, it may take around 1 hrs.
to reach. Direct cars are available from railway station to Bhalukpong.
Most of the tourists prefer to reach to Guwahati by rail
or air then direct to Tezpur by bus, car and taxi, daily and direct bus and
shared transport available from Guwahati Railway station to Tezpur. Then car/bus
from Tezpur to Bhalukpong.

Bhalukpong
October and November is best time to visit Bhalukpong,
another good time starting from March to April. Adventure loving tourists can
visit throughout the year.
