Gangtok is capital city of Indian state of Sikkim, situated on 1650 meter (5500 ft.) above sea level, a gorgeous and modern city built on Himalayan Mountain stage. Today I will share best ideas to explore Gangtok and nearby. If you make well plan for Gangtok sightseeing, it will be budget effective and time saving.

          If you want to explore or sightseeing of Gangtok perfectly then at least two days is required, take a Gangtok ropeway ride at afternoon at the days on which you are reaching Gangtok. You can enjoy entire Gangtok city and nearby areas view from top, ropeway ride is must visit and most memorable ride at Gangtok. Also spend little time at evening in M.G Marg, the city entre at heart of the city.  After then reach at hotel and take proper rest and sleep for next day trip.

Day 1: This is actually second day for you at Gangtok, today we will explore nearby and maximum number of sighting destinations in Gangtok and nearby. After breakfast take a full-day trip or sightseeing around Gangtok, list of destination are bellow..

1. Enchey Monastery: The oldest monastery of Gangtok located at hilltop.
2. Ganesh Tok: A nice Ganesh Ji temple at hilltop with stunning view of surrounding.
3. Tashi view point: A nice view point to enjoy snow-capped peaks of Mt. Kanchenjunga.
4. Hanuman Tok: A Hanuman Ji template at hilltop with magnificent view of Mt. Kanchenjunga.
5. Flower Exhibition Center: A center for different types of flowers, plants and orchids.
6. Bakthang Waterfall: A must visit stop from or to Tashi view point.
7. Handicraft Center: A sales and showcase point for local handicraft and handloom product.

Also take a tour to Dear Park, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology (a Tibet museum at Gangtok), Chorten Stupa and Sikkim Himalayan Zoological Park – a zoo in Gangtok city.

1. Fambong Lho Wildlife Sanctuary: A wild life sanctuary just 25 kms. away from Gangtok city, spread across 51.76 sq. Km. You may get a chance to see Barking Deer, Red Panda, Monal and Deer, Leopard-cat, Jungle cat, Marbled cat because this area is open and free zone for them.
2. Rumtek Monastery: A monastery with cultural, traditional and heritage center of Sikkim, located just 25 kms. away from Gangtok.
3. Ranka Monastery: One of the most beautiful monastery near Gangtok.
4. Jawaharlal Nehru Botanical Garden: The garden located just one and a half kilometer before reaching Rumtek, there are many known and unknown plants, mountain flowers and orchids.
5. Banjhakri Waterfall & Park: A nice picnic spot near Gangtok.

Gangtok is also famous for shopping after reaching at hotel in evening, you may start shopping, and numbers of national and international shopping outlets are available at Gangtok.
