is Paro, one and only airport
of Bhutan located at
Paro. First you will get 'Chuzom' - means means where the rivers meets. There
is confluence of the Thimphu River and Paro
River. The Chuzom Bridge
connects the four districts of Thimphu, Paro, Haa and Chhukha and this
is most important point in terms of transportation of Bhutan.
Main attraction of Paro is National Museum of Bhutan or Paro Museum
is a cultural hub in Paro, was established in 1968 in western Bhutan.
Many historical items and sculptures from entire Bhutan are housed here. Your next
destination will be Paro Dzong, which is locally known as Rinpung Dzong. This
is a grand structure standing in the bank of Paro River.
Next go to visit one of the oldest temples in Bhutan, which is Kyichu Lhakhang.
This is first Buddhist temple in Bhutan and it was built in the 7th
century.
You can make a whole day plan to visit Paro Taktsang or
Tiger Nest or also you can make a half day sightseeing tour. You need to make a
trek to visit the monastery, which is one of the main tourism attractions of Bhutan.

How to Reach
Paro
Paro is easily accessible tourist destination and well connected with rest of the Bhutan through well maintained motorable road. It will take around 2 hrs. to reach at Paro from Thimpu.
Paro also can be reached from Phuntshilling - the border town. It will take around 4 hrs. - 4.5 hrs to reach from Phuntshilling and distance around 165 km. Direct buses are also available from Phuntshilling to Paro daily, fare around Nu.150 (Rs.150).
Best Season to Visit
Paro
Entire Bhutan can be visited throughout the year except monsoon, but best season for Bhutan tour is March to May and another best season is September to November. In winter Bhutan experience enough chill weather.
