Varsey is a paradise for nature lover, you can trek to Varsey (Barsey) and back to Hilley, Okhrey on same day. But staying at Rhododendron Sanctuary is a lifetime achievement; fascinating view of whole area is just unforgettable on a full moon night. Fabulous sunrise over Khangchendzongha range is another best gift by god to you from Sun-Rise point. But there (Varsey rhododendron sanctuary) has very less option to stay; it’s difficult to get a single bed in peak-season. Only stay options are the Forest Rest House and Guraskunj or Guras Kunj (a stone carved bungalow inside sanctuary). Only a double bedded room and dormitory beds are available for tourists.

          Tariff starts from Rs.1500 per day for dbl bed room and Rs.900/ to Rs.1000/ per bed for dormitory. Delicious veg and non-veg thalis are available at Guras Kunj, call caretaker in advance for that).

How to Reach Varsey

Nearest airport is Bagdogra and railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP), total distance around 125 kms. from Siliguri. You can take a jeep to Jorethang (fare around Rs.100 to Rs.150) from Siliguri and then another Jeep to Hilley. Also you can hire an exclusive car directly to Hilley.
