Lingtam - the untouched
destination is all geared up to attract visitors through homestay tourism,
located along the Rorathang-Nathula route. There are five home
stays operating in this village, the State government has sanctioned two
additional rooms for 14 families in Lingtam for home stay tourism purposes.
Our associate homestay is a budgeted and good accommodation
situated in the Lingtam of East Sikkim. All rooms are cozy and hygienic with
western attached bath and hot/cold water facility. Tariff stars from Rs.1200 to

Silk Route Resort: The Resort is surrounded by hills and
wonderfully situated in the midst of great natural beauty. One can enjoy the
beauty of green hills which surrounds the resort. The resort is located in vast
plain area which cannot be imagined in hilly terrain. The rooms have great view
of surrounding, at night you can hear the music of water flowing in river which
is just adjacent to the resort. If you are lucky you can also hear the local
music from far away village located on the hill top. The frequency of ups and
down of the tune of the local melody with the breeze will mesmerize you. I
wondered in the green hills, white scattered cloud.
How to Reach

Nearest and only big railway station is New Jalpaiguri
(NJP) well connected will all major cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai,
Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
Nearest
and only airport is Bagdogra (IXB) also have daily flight from all major cities
of India. From airport or railway station you can hire a car directly to
Lingtam, distance around 130 K.M. and car fare around Rs.4, 000 – Rs.4, 500
depends on season.
If you are on budgeted trip then take auto-rickshaw to
Siliguri then take bus from Siliguri S.N.T bus stand to Rangpo fare would be
around Rs.130 – Rs. 150. From Rangpo a straight road goes to Gangtok directly,
take right turn from Rangpo to Rangoli by the bank of river Rangpo, jeep or shared
care fare would be around Rs50 – Rs.80. Then another shared car or jeep to
Lingtam and cost would be around Rs.20 – Rs.50.
Car fare
would be around Rs.3, 500 – Rs.4, 300 from Lingtam to Changu Lake via Zuluk,
Lungthung, Kupup of Silk-route and back.
